Taking in a Nice Breath of Fresh Vaping Air

Look – we all know by now that smoking can kill you.  Cigarette tobacco puts a person at risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and more potentially life-threatening ailments.  But, there’s another thing about smoking that makes it such a terrible habit, and that’s the way in which it ruins your breath.

We all know someone who has smoker’s breath.  That odor is a combination of stale cigarette smoke and bacteria that results from the various oral health problems that smoking causes.  For instance, we know that cigarette use leads to gum inflammation which can result in bad breath.  We also know that smoking causes the breath to excrete certain chemicals that are unpleasant to smell, to say the least.

It’s understandable that people who switch from smoking to vaping want to know whether or not this change will have positive effects on their breath.  Well, allow us to clear up any concerns that you may have about vaping and the way that your breath smells.

Will Vaping Give You Bad Breath?

While it’s almost inevitable that smoking will give you chronically bad breath, there’s really little reason to believe that vaping would do the same.  As you know, cigarette smoke and e-liquid vapor are two extremely different substances that have totally different effects on the body.

Vapor vs. Smoke

Vapor and smoke are two different substances with different density and volume levels.  Smoke tends to cling onto things while vapor dissipates into the air quickly due to its low evaporation point.  This is why people who smoke will smell like cigarettes for hours after they had their last cigarette, while a vaper doesn’t smell like their e-cigarettes at all.

Therefore, you don’t have to worry about the smell of your e-liquid affecting your breath.  It just doesn’t work that way.

Risk of Oral Health Problems

We know that smoking dramatically affects your oral health, causing problems like periodontal disease, tooth decay and cavities.  And, oral health problems can definitely contribute to bad breath.  However, there’s no evidence that suggests that vaping negatively affects your oral health.  This means that you can continue vaping without worrying about a high chance of developing tooth decay from your hobby.

Dry Mouth

It is worth pointing out that some vapers report experiencing dry mouth.  When the mouth is dry, a person may have temporary bad breath because of the lack of saliva washing away odor-causing bacteria.  If you’re prone to dry mouth when you vape, just make a point to drink plenty of water throughout the day, and bring a bottle of water with you when you’re vaping on the road.  In fact, you may have dry mouth because you were dehydrated in the first place and didn’t know it.

Also, if you do have dry mouth from vaping, you might be vaping too much or vaping an e-liquid with too high a nicotine strength.  If this is the case, consider making the necessary adjustments to your vaping routine.

Fresh Vaping Breath

As you can see, there’s really nothing to worry about when it comes to vaping and bad breath.  Vaping and smoking are extremely different activities that produce different effects on your health.  Vaping, unlike smoking, isn’t likely to cause any changes in your breath, which means that you can continue enjoying your hobby without feeling self-conscious.
